I think a few groups are gointo pop up and be reasonably active (a museum group and a couple of regional groups). It would be great to have a space to compile news pertaining to cafes, plus a couple people may start blogs. I'm not too over enthusiastic about video or photo sharing- my guess is that a small number of people will use that feature indescriminately, while the rest of us ignore it. The leaving messages for friends thing is actually quite important too, so I'd like to find a way to encourage folks to build up their profiles. I am also now thinking that it will be nice to have a central space for getting out announcements- probably a text box near the top of the page.

These are the basic functions that I know ning can do for us. I talked with Annie last month about a few other good ideas that go even further. For example, data collection about cafe events.
