Luckily, starting a group is fairly straightforward.
Click on the "groups" tab (at the top next to "forum"...for some reason this isn't appearing in the same font as the rest of the tabs...we're working on that). Then click on "add a group," and follow the instructions. I would leave the standard settings that it starts with until you find that you need to change them for some reason.
You'll want to name the group something straightforward to draw people in, and you will need to have a picture for the group. The picture should be square or it will get cut off. You could do an image search on google for an outline of Ohio, or whatever you like...
Being the leader of the group means that you will receive an email when people post info to the group's page. It also means that you'll have the ability to make changes to the way things are presented on the group page, if you so choose. All in all, it should not involve too much effort- if it does, let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
Glad to see you've joined this network. As you can tell it, is in it's infancy at the moment, but I expect it to fill in considerably after the holidays. Feel free to start your own groups or forum conversations.
There a bunch of cafes in Ohio- it may make sense for you to start a group for Ohio cafes. There are also many cafes in Southern Michigan- I realize this won't work for sports fans, but perhaps you could include both states in one group...
If this interests you and you'd like figuring out this network let me know...
Best-
